We value our volunteers! However, it is mandatory for all of our volunteers to provide us with a Criminal Record Check (CRC). The safety and well-being of our campers is our first priority. Background checks on all our leaders is one of the ways we ensure a safe environment.
Verification letters are available at the Synod office. To obtain a letter please call (250) 386-7781 Extension 251. Once you have the Verification letter please take it to your local police/ RCMP station where you will be required to present two pieces of identification (ID), one with a picture. The process can take up to 2 weeks and as long as 3 months to complete. So please ensure you give ample time before your volunteer time starts. When you receive your CRC, please send it to the Diocesan office:
Anglican Diocese of BC
900 Vancouver Street
Victoria BC, V8V 3V7
Fax: (250) 386-4013
CRC are valid for 3 years. If you have submitted one to the Anglican Diocese of BC Office, it will remain valid for the same length of time. We encourage all volunteers to submit their CRC requests by the end of April, as processing delays may occur. Thank you for helping us make Camp in the Community a safe place for children, youth and the community !
It is mandatory for all employees of Camp in the Community to provide a CRC. Once you pay your fee, and complete the application, please bring your receipt and CRC to the Synod office for a reimbursement and complete the Reimbursement form below.
In Calgary and Edmonton, AB individuals are required to download a form from the police station website, as these two places are not connected to the main information system across Canada.
